Q. How many Italian tours do you offer?
A. We offer over 30 different tours in Italy. Our Tours are divided into 4 categories:
• Affordable Italy Tours: starting from $499, these tours were created to compensate for the strong Euro and the struggling economy.
• Discover Italy Tours: tours are focused on 3 or more regions of Italy.
• Regional Italy Tours: tours focus on 1 or 2 Italian regions.
• Special Interest Italy Tours: tours focus on the best Italy has to offer with culinary, wines, spas, scuba diving, skiing, shopping, etc...
Q. I have one week to visit Italy, do you have a tour that visits all of Italy in 7 days?
A. No, Stay and Visit Italy Orofino Tours offers an Italian vacation - the way the Italians do it. On our tours you will STAY in one hotel/resort and VISIT each region with daily trips (you only have to unpack once). You will enjoy the Italian culture, cuisine and customs, just the way Italy intended (the Dolce Vita). As they say, “when in Rome, do as the Romans”. We take pride in the authenticity of our tours – we are Italians showing off our country through our tours. Italy has over 3,000 years of history and it is impossible to see all it has to offer in one week.
If you only have one week to visit Italy, we strongly recommend you concentrate your visit in one region.
Q. Why aren’t your hotels located in Florence and Venice for the Northern Italy tours?
A. For the Italians, Florence and Venice are like “Disney World” to the Americans. Florence and Venice are cities to visit, not to stay. We want you to experience Italy as an Italian. Italians don’t want to live in touristic cities; they enjoy their small medieval towns on the outskirts of these cities.
Q. What is not included in your tour package?
A. Stay and Visit Italy’s Orofino tour packages vary. For a complete list of itineraries and departure dates and rates, please visit our website at www.stayandvisit.com.
Q. Are the hotels nice accommodations?
A. Yes, we always use First Class 4 star hotels/resorts on our Orofino Tours.
Q. How is it possible to have such affordably-priced tours in comparison with all the other tour companies?
A. There are more than 300 Tour Operator companies in North America, Stay and Visit Italy Orofino Tours is the ONLY tour operator that owns and utilizes its’ own largest, first-class family-owned four-star hotel chain in Italy. Therefore, we do not have to use a third party for the accommodations, hotels/resorts, restaurants, etc…
Q. Do children travelers receive a discounted rate on your tours?
A. Yes, Stay and Visit packages are 50% off for children under 12 years old in the same parent’s room.
Q. Where does Orofino Tours visit?
A. We are an Italian company. Our tours specialize and originate in Italy. We also have a Discover Italy tour that visits the French Riviera, Provence region of France.
Q. Will I have any free time to explore on my own...or just lounge at a sidewalk cafe?
A. Yes. Stay and Visit ® Italy Orofino Tours offers an itinerary of several active days followed by an afternoon or entire day to relax or explore.
Q. What meals are included?
A. Breakfast and dinner are included on almost all tours as described in the itineraries. A buffet-style breakfast including fresh breads, boiled eggs, an assortment of local cheeses, juice, fruit, butter, preserves, yogurt, cereal, cappuccino, tea, hot cocoa. Dinner is usually a multi-course meal with a variety of pasta dishes (primi piatti) followed by a meat, fish or vegetarian entrée (secondi piatti), plus dessert.
Q. What is the age range of most travelers?
A. Past tour participants ages range from young to young at heart, 20s to 80s. The majority are mature professionals and retirees. We also have families with grandparents and children.
Q. Where do tour participants come from?
A. Past participants have joined our tours from all corners of North America. Travelers who choose Stay and Visit ® Italy Orofino Tours tend to be well-educated, flexible, and curious. Our tour guests are open-minded and enjoy the company of other seasoned travelers.
Q. Will I be asked to pack and unpack my bags every day and move onto another hotel?
A. No. Stay and Visit ® Italy Orofino Tours have a regional focus. We stay in one place and travel via motor coach, hydrofoils and ferries to visit several.
Q. How much walking is required?
A. You can expect some walking. Many of the historical centers do not allow motorized vehicles, therefore, we must walk. A good pair of comfortable walking shoes is a must!
Q. How do we get around the countryside? And the sea?
A. For land tours you will travel in comfortable mini buses with expert drivers. To visit the islands, we will be transported by sleek and fast hydro-foils, boats and ferries.
Q. What will the temperatures be like in Italy?
A. You will find temperatures in Italy very similar to the mid-Atlantic temperatures in the US. It is wise to layer clothing in preparation for warmer days and cooler evenings. Sicily temperatures are more like Florida, warm winters and hot summers.
Q. Will there be someone at the airport when I arrive?
A. Yes. A representative will be carrying a Stay and Visit ® Italy sign awaiting your arrival.
Q. What will I receive before my departure?
A. You’ll receive a departure package including hotel phone numbers and addresses, the name and phone numbers of your Stay and Visit ® Italy Orofino Tours contact, general information on the regions you will be visiting, packing tips, a suggested reading list and other helpful enclosures.
Q. Will I have a point of contact in Italy?
A. Yes. In your departure package there will be contact information of your Stay and Visit ® Italy Orofino Tours representative. In case of any last minute changes or emergencies, you can contact your representative directly. You may also call the hotel of your first destination with all pertinent information.
Q. How large a group will I travel with?
A. We rarely exceed 20 travelers except for the Affordable Italy Tours. Best of all, we guarantee all our tour departures.
